Apella founded to advise on aligning purpose and strategy to protect and build reputation
5 April 2019 (London)
Apella, a new London-based firm, launches to provide strategic advisory services to help organisations build sustainable performance and value through aligning their purpose and strategy.
Apella will also help organisations to protect and develop one of their most valuable assets, their reputation. The broad expertise of the founding partners will be underpinned with a rigorous use of data ensuring judgement is always evidence based.
The initial partners of the new firm are James Acheson-Gray, Jenny Scott and Matt Young. Apella will be chaired by Julian Hanson Smith, and Sarika Haggipavlou will be Chief Operating Officer. Other partners and senior executives will join in the coming months when current employment restrictions allow.
Jenny Scott, partner, comments: “Our focus is on organisational purpose. In a world of constant disruption, purpose provides the thread that drives strategy, which, when well executed, differentiates and generates exceptional reputations. We are a senior team providing insightful, actionable advice based on robust evidence.”
In recent years, the co-founders have worked for and advised some of the world’s largest companies and organisations including Bank of England, BBC, Danaher, Lloyds Banking Group, Lockheed Martin and Santander. They have extensive experience as consultants and as in-house communications professionals, and a proven record in creating high grade advisory firms.
Matt Young, partner added: “As the experience of our team demonstrates, our goal is to guide organisations through the highly complex reputational challenges they are facing. Our clients will be those seeking strategic advice from advisors who have proven expertise in building exceptional reputations.”
Apella will launch initially in the UK before expanding to other markets. Apella has secured funding from Iceni Capital, the private equity firm that previously backed the formation of StockWell Communications in 2010.
